E. C. Reems Community Services is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit public benefit corporation. The organization was founded in 1989 by Ernestine C Reems, to address the need for mental health and wellness services for the African American population of the area. E.C. Reems uses our understanding of the diverse African American experience to develop events, training, information, and ongoing programs that directly prepares and motivates African Americans to begin and maintain continuous participation in mental health activities. For 29 years, we have successfully partnered with individuals, public and private organization, mental health providers, and medical practitioners to provide ongoing culturally competent services. As a faith-based organization, E. C. Reems accepts it role as a leader in providing aid and comfort to those suffering from various mental health issues and takes great pride in its ability to shepherd them to healing. This includes an understanding of the day-to-day challenges African Americans face that contribute to mental illnesses. To that end we present the Live Life Well Project.
